Calcaire Cahors 2022
Brooding – Fresh – Juicy – Vibrant
The grapes used to create this wine were sourced from a terroir with limestone-rich soil, which is called 'calcaire' in France. The terroir sings through in this wine, providing freshness and crispness through it's fine tannin structure, which one might not expect from the modern style of Malbec. However it still has the dense, dark fruit that the grape has always been associated with. A fine balanced wine that can be enjoyed on it's own, but will stand up well to meaty dishes too.
35-40 year old vines on premium calcaire soil plots. Fermented in neutral tank followed by up to 2 years in 225L oak barriques.
