The Ginger Pig and St. John Present: A Sunday Feast

St. JOHN is honoured to have teamed up with longstanding friend, sharer of values and purveyor of exceptional meat The Ginger Pig. Together they will host a long and lovely Sunday lunch, celebrating the publication of The Book of St. JOHN.
To get the juices flowing there will be glasses of St. JOHN Crémant on arrival, paired with delicious little morsels of potted pork - The Ginger Pig's beautiful rare-breed animals perched on St. JOHN sourdough toast, topped with a sharp little cornichon to pique the appetite.
"Truly the salad which knows no bounds" says Fergus, and indeed your joy will be boundless as you are presented with Ox Tongue, Beetroot and Pickled Walnut: hearty yet delicate, light with a touch of richness, deep yet sharp. And its companion is not one wine but two - St. JOHN Mâcon and the St. JOHN Mâcon Villages, a red and a white to choose between - or choose both!
Is there a more fabulous centrepiece than a glorious golden pie? Surely nothing is finer on a Sunday than pie, chips and good red wine? It shall all be yours! The Chicken, Bacon and Trotter Pie is richly, deeply flavoursome with The Ginger Pig's 100-day chickens; a cross between a Cornish Game cockerel and a Sussex or Dorking hen, slow grown and feed on homegrown cereals, and the grasses and herbage of their surroundings.
Apple sorbet and Russian Vodka to cleanse and stimulate, and finally Eccles Cakes and Lancashire Cheese to set you up for the afternoon ahead - an afternoon spent reading your new book, perhaps!
Books will be sold at the lunch at a discounted rate of £20. Fergus and Trevor of St. JOHN will be on hand to sign your copy. The brilliant Tim Wilson, founder of The Ginger Pig, will be lunching and saying a few words with them.
All recipes for the lunch are taken from The Book of St. JOHN. The ticket price of £110 includes all courses, wine and service.
