Brouilly 2017

Plush – Violets – Juicy – Dark Fruits
Dark purple in the glass, this is creamy and unctuous on the palate. It is soft, supple and concentrated with ripe raspberry and blackberry fruits. It is very youthful and while lovely now it will age well over the next couple of years.

Domaine Richard Rottiers
Producer Profile Domaine Richard Rottiers
Richard created his vineyard in 2007 by taking over the operation of 3.15 hectares of vines aged from 40 to 80 years and decided to experiment with innovative methods, all centred around the environment. His goal is to be certified fully organic, making wines that truly demonstrate the terroir of the Moulin à Vent, an area often referred to as the King of the Beaujolais villages (with Fleurie as the Queen). Moulin à Vent tends to have a little more power and structure than the more traditional Beaujolais that one might chill.

Richard’s wife Corrine is from Romaneche-Thorins, hence why he has installed himself in Moulin à Vent, a region which also fascinates him. Before settling in Moulin, Richard had spent time learning his trade in the Chablis, Gaillac, Luberon and Brouilly regions as well as South Africa and New Zealand.
